Steering and suspension systems, components and maintenance (4 wheels or more)
Heavy vehicle braking systems, components and maintenance
Introduction to low carbon technologies in the automotive industry
Heavy vehicle electrical foundation skills
Heavy vehicle engine, mechanical, lubrication and cooling system units and components
Heavy vehicle fuel, air supply and exhaust system units and components

The successful completion of the Level 1 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Studies will provide you with a sound preparation for further vocational training, such as continuing onto the Level 2 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Studies. This diploma is ideal for you if you wish to undertake a qualification which will support your progress into the retail motor vehicle industry and onto a Level 2 Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ).
