What's the Revit Advanced course about?

This course is aimed at those who are involved in architecture, construction and building project management. The course provides anyone in these fields with essential and advanced skills required to implement BIM software into the workplace and organisation workflow.

The course provides intermediate level BIM users with advanced skills to create and define personal and organisational templates, design non-standard families for use in BIM projects.

Learners will set up work sets, project phasing for demolition and define the workflow of an architectural project.

The later part of the course focuses on creating and designing conceptual models within any project, analysis space and area utilisation and creating rendered images, walkthroughs and accurate solar studies.

This course covers
BIM and Family Management
- Creating custom templates with annotation styles, title blocks, and custom element types
- Setting up a family file
- Creating family geometry
- Creating family types
- Creating specific families, including, in-place families, profiles, annotation, and shared parameters

Collaboration and work flow

- Setting up project phasing
- Creating and displaying design options
- Working with and using groups
- Linking Autodesk Revit files
- Co-ordinating multi-disciplinary areas in Revit
- Import and export files including exporting for energy analysis
- Use and set up work sets.

Visualisation & Conceptual Design

- Creating and designing In-Place Conceptual Mass elements and Conceptual Mass families
- Creating building elements from massing studies
- Using Rooms and Areas for space planning and analysis
- Creating renders, walkthroughs, and solar studies

There is no formal assessment on this course.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

Learners can also progress to university degree courses in BIM, Architecture, and Interior Design.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

Enrolment onto the course requires previous completion of Revit Fundamentals or previous and intermediate level experience of Revit at work.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Revit Advanced course?

Upon completion of this course you will be awarded a College Certificate
